Start with Bass Coupling at zero — that is full channel separation — and set the two Decay controls a little apart, say 3.5 s and 2.8 s. That asymmetry is the instrument speaking. Raise Bass Coupling only if the low end sounds hollow or the mix folds down badly to mono.
